Severance Hospital – the Severance Hospital was established more than 120 years ago by a missionary doctor from North American Presbyterian Church named Horace N. Allen. Through all the years, a foundation in Christian values and Dr. Allen’s spirit of challenge have been faithfully practiced as the hospital continues to open new characters in Korea’s medical history. The oriental Medicine Hospital of Kyunhee University started with the departments of international Medicine, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Acupuncture and Moxibustion, etc. The oriental Medical Hospital of Kyunhee University also succeeded in anesthetizing a subject of Caesarean operation by acupuncture on March 22,1976, and held the first World Congress of Acupunture on October 29,1976. We invented medical examination appliances of Oriental Medicine and made the data auto – recorder on September 16,1977.
